Courteenhall on BBC Radio 4

17th Oct 2024

In September BBC Radio 4’s Farming Today programme came out to Courteenhall to interview Johnny, who chairs the Central England region of the Environmental Farmers Group.
The EFG was set up back in 2022 to bring large groups of farmers together in co-operatives, to bid for public and private finance to fund environmental projects across large areas. Nearly six hundred farmers across England have joined so far.
Johnny says: “It was great to welcome Farming Today to the estate and to show them what we’re doing here to attract more nature schemes on to the land.
“I’m a firm believer that as farmers we should produce good food and it shouldn’t be at the expense of nature.
“The EFG is for farms of all sizes and kinds and being part of a collective like this gives us confidence.”
