Courteenhall Estate hosts the Northamptonshire CLA

26th Apr 2022

Today we were delighted to welcome the Northamptonshire CLA committee to Courteenhall for their county branch AGM and lunch.

Approx 50 members from across the county and further afield attended to have a guided tour around the estate which included a farm walk encompassing the parkland, arable crops, chicken unit and renewable energy projects before retiring for some lunch.

Dr Johnny Wake, Managing Partner gave an overview of the activities taking place on the estate including corporate events, weddings, environmental stewardship, commercial/residential property as well as supporting charitable causes and community projects.

Meanwhile, Assistant Agent Rosie Davis told the group about the environmental stewardship schemes and how that supports the overall objectives on the estate.

Northamptonshire CLA President Rupert West commented that ‘what struck me is the vision that Johnny Wake has for the estate, adopting innovation and new technology, whilst navigating through the various challenges and opportunities that land management brings’. ‘Johnny is leading the way and it’s been wonderful to see firsthand what can be achieved now and in the future.'

County Chairman Colin Sotherby continued by saying ‘ We are incredibly thankful to Johnny Wake and his team at Courteenhall for hosting us here today and for showcasing some exciting projects that have inspired us. We will watch with interest as things progress and look to what we can adopt in our own businesses.
