Courteenhall Estate are looking for a Graduate Rural Surveyor to take on a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of rural estate management. Working closely with the Estate Manager, you will assist in the day-to-day management of the Estate. This role offers a training programme, working with two APC assessors, to provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a chartered surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Estate Manager with managing and applying for grants and subsidies (including budgeting and implementation where necessary).
  • Preparing budgets for Countryside Stewardship, commercial property, arable contract farming agreement (CFA), renewable energy assets and livestock enterprises.
  • Assisting with the management and benchmarking of the arable CFA.
  • Commercial property letting, rent reviews, management (including compliance and budgeting) and lease renewals.
  • Drafting commercial tenancy agreements and licences.
  • Assisting with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work.
  • Managing and developing the Estate’s use of the mapping software (LandApp).
  • Dealing with access requests, wayleaves, and compensation matters.
  • Assisting with farm assurance and cross compliance administration and applications.
  • Assisting both the Estate Director and Estate Manager with strategic analysis of projects and implementation.
  • Assisting the Estate Manager with carbon, biodiversity net gain and other environmental opportunities.
  • Management of woodland work, including tree surveys and felling.
  • Maintaining the property terrier system.
  • Assist with renewables and compliance of systems.
  • Assisting with ensuring compliance across the business with Health and Safety.

APC Training:

  • The Estate will provide a structured approach to training and development including working alongside two APC assessors (as supervisors and counsellors). The Estate will provide you with the required experience and cover the costs of professional subscriptions.
